The 2017 Ford Fusion Features Stop-and-Go Traffic Cruise Control

According to the Texas A&M Transportation Institute's 2015 Urban Mobility Scorecard, the average driver spends nearly an hour each and every week stuck in traffic -- even more in big cities.

All those hours can add up to big stress, but Ford thinks it may have a solution to the rush-hour blues.

The 2017 Ford Fusion, arriving this spring, will be the first of the Ford lineup to feature adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go technology. That means you set your desired cruise speed, and then forget about acceleration.

No more swapping to the gas pedal just in time for traffic to stop again, and switching back to the brake pedal. The Fusion scans traffic using a camera and radar system, and holds a safe following distance behind the car ahead -- even if that car stops. When traffic clears, the Fusion resumes cruising at the speed you set.
